Today, October 10, 2005:  Today we have a Club Assembly.  Fall into Rotary!  We will have some fun and learn about our website at the same time.  The website is a very useful tool for information about fellow Rotarians including e-mail addresses, upcoming programs, and important meeting information.  Jim Gilligan is our in-house Technical Adviser.  He will provide useful hints on navigating the Clubrunner so each member will utilize the services.
 
Fire Chief of the Year:  The Michigan Association of Fire Chiefs presented our own Jim Reed a well deserved recognition: Fire Chief of the Year for 2005!   Congratulations, Jim! 
 
Rotaract: The Rotaract Club of Cleary University meets the first and third Thursday of the month at Cleary.  Come to join them.  They meet November 3rd and 17th. 
 
Howell Recreation Authority:  Two weeks ago, the director of the Howell Parks and Recreation spoke to us about establishing a Recreation Authority for Howell.  There will be an Open House on Thursday, October 18th at 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. 
1) "Learn about the newly established Recreation Authority."
2) "View maps and information explaining why the Authority was established."
3) "Meet and mingle with public representatives from Howell, Genoa Township, Marion Township, and Oceola Township.
 
Kim Dane has been appointed to head up the Howell Rotary Membership Committee.  She will work closely with the Board to bring in new members and to retain present members.  Anyone who might be interested in helping Kim is certainly welcome!
