Today, November 20, 2006:  Stewart Christian is asking Jeanne Clum, our fellow Rotarian, is give us an update on the United Way funding drive.

There is also a Fundraising Committee meeting today at 11.  Ask Catherine Dunning for more information.  You must know that the club is selling Golf Cards for $20.  These cards have all kinds of 2-for-1 deals and other discounts.  Try to sell or to give them to your favorite golfer for a present.

November 27: Richard Grant from the Howell Conference and Nature Center is the speaker.

November 30: The Steering Committee meets at noon at Cleary's.

December 4: Everest Man Chris Klinke is back on the schedule.

What a Weekend!

First, Bo Schembechler died. His passing dominated the news on ESPN and especially throughout Michigan. Bo was far more than a very successful football coach; he had friends everywhere, based on his caring and strength of character. I heard him speak once. It was vintage Bo: the Team, the Team, the Team. He was so inspiring! Ohio State won the game of year 42-39 over Michigan. It was exciting albeit disappointing. Who knows? Maybe those two teams are still #1 and #2.

Michigan State concluded its season - thankfully - with another loss. By next week, there may be a new coach.

In addition to football, Community Theater had a very good production of "Carousel." The Howell High School produced "Guys and Dolls." And the Howell Carnegie District Library celebration was a smash success.

Amy Connolly wishes to share her good news: "Just wanted to say hi and let you know that I'll be taking a break from Rotary for a while. I'm still home on maternity leave with Maggie and I'm going back to work part-time for a month after the holidays. So...I would say that I'll probably be back to Rotary in March or April. I've included two pictures of Margaret Sarah to share with you."
