Today, October 24, 2005:  We welcome George and Melanie Moses from the Brighton club.  They will recap the Rotary International Convention in Chicago.

Next Week:  Barb Barden is the program chair.  Her topic is "Autumn in Livingston County."  It should be a colorful program.  Knowing her, Barb will leave no leaf unturned.

Football:  Michigan won its third last-second game, beating Iowa in overtime 23-20.  This was another nail-biter.  Will the Old Blues survive the season?   The Old Greens are not faring so well.  They could have beaten U-M and should have beaten Ohio State.  Now they were swamped by Northwestern.  Northwestern?
 

Thanks: To Peter Bowen and his group of Interact (Junior Rotarians) members who helped clean up the West Street Park and the Rotary Gazebo.  Peter has spent so much of his time helping this group of kids that he certainly deserves special recognition. 

      To the Rotary Golf Team for its valiant attempt to bring home the Rotary trophy.  Alas, they finished third to Brighton and the Sunrise Club.

      To Kim Dane, who will lead the Membership Committee, whose daunting task is to retain existing members and bring in new members.  They will need your help and encouragement. 

      To Carol Griffith (President Carol), who has presided over the transition to a new format for the meetings.  Her steady hand and friendly manner has made the meetings much more compact, giving the speaker more time to deliver his message.

      To Jim Gilligan, who has almost single-handedly made Club Runner a success.  Now the bulletin is available to former members and friends, as well as current ones.  If you know former members who wish to read the Bulletin, let Jim know.
