Today, June 13, 2005: Prosecuting Attorney David Morse and Detective Ed Moore are discussing the crime of Identity Theft and giving suggestions on avoiding being a victim.
Cool Cities Presentation: Tomorrow DDA Director Amy Connolly is gathering forces to seek a Cool Cities designation from the Michigan Economic Development Corp board. At stake is $200,000 of technical assistance (over 3 years) that could lead to new jobs, more private investment, and more downtown residents. Amy has been working on a presentation (or a skit) based on The Today Show. Starring in this skit are Rotary's own Brent Earl (as Matt Lauer) and Susan Grimes Munsell (as Katie Couric). Perhaps there will be a tape available for a Rotary program. Good luck everyone!

Next Week: June 20: We are having our Annual Rotary Meeting (after all, Rotary is celebrating its 100 years anniversary this year). We will have dinner at Chemung Hills Country Club. Carol Griffith is organizing this event. Remember there is no lunch meeting next week.
June 27: We will meet at the West Side Park for lunch at the Rotary Pavilion. This is a beautiful setting.
Pancake Breakfast: Sunday, June 26, at Howell High School cafeteria. We need more flippers and servers and help. If you can't help, please come to eat. We want your support.
This Is Terrible! A sailor was driven off course by a storm and smashed into a small island. The next morning he awoke on the beach. The sand and sky were reddish. Walking around in a daze, the sailor saw red birds, red grass, red trees, and red bananas. He was shocked to find that even his skin was reddish. "Oh, no!" he exclaimed, "I'm marooned!"
