District 6380 Outbound Ambassadorial Scholar Selection Committee will consider applications for 2009-10 scholarships in the coming months.  One application has been received so far:

The District 6380 Outbound Ambassadorial Scholar Selection Committee will be open for business to consider applications for 2009-10 scholarships in the coming months. I have had communications from and supplied applications to a few clubs who anticipate that they will nominate candidates. So far we have received one application.

All clubs are encouraged to seek and support worthy candidates. The deadline for submitting applications to the District will be June 13. The Committee will interview candidates during the summer months, probably in July, and choose at least one candidate for nomination to The Rotary Foundation. This year we are sponsoring two Ambassadorial Scholars. Whether the District's finances will support that again this year, if it turns out that there is more than one outstanding candidate, remains to be seen.

As you know, the Rotary International website has extensive information about the Ambassadorial Scholarship program and the application can be downloaded. But I still have a few copies of it and will be glad to mail one to any club that so requests until my inventory is exhausted.
