May 24th Meeting Bulletin

Monday, May 24: Today's program is "Meet the Candidates", chaired by Mike Hall and Jeanne Clum. They've invited all registered candidates for the open seats for the 22nd District Michigan Senate, 5th District County Commissioner, and 47th and 66th District State Representative spots. This will be the first time these candidates will be together for introductions and brief comments about their philosophies. Should be an interesting meeting.
Last week Bruce McCullen presented an informative program on energy efficient houses.
Other good news for Monday: We'll be inducting new member Heidi Wenner to our Club. We extend a warm welcome to Heidi!
Congratulations are in order to eHoweller Bulletin Editor Molly Burk who gave birth to a new baby girl "Toby." Mother and daughter are doing well.
From the Injured Reserve List, Brent Earl reported that Dad Bill visited home for Mother's Day, and continues to recuperate, and visitors are welcome at his Nursing Home especially in the morning hours. Our Resident Sgt. of Arms Renae Behr is due back soon from her leg injury.
Brent Earl also reported that a Marilyn Monroe Impersonator will be on hand for the Opera House Paint Party on June 17th.
Peter Bowen reported that the Interact Run raised $2367 for The Connection Youth. Howell Interact Club officers will be joining us on May 24th for a check presentation to The Connection Youth Services for $2367.88, monies raised at the Interact 5K on April 24th. The Connection is a wonderful organization that helps at-risk teens. The amount raised is almost a record amount for the Interact 5K!
Last Saturday, May 22nd, the annual Lip Synch was held at the Brighton Center For Performing Arts, and our own Carol Griffith was among the celebs belting out some of her favorite tunes.
