                                 Bowl For Kids Sake

Congratulations to the Howell Rotary Bowling Teams; Pins Away and Pins Away Too. Event Chair Dan Murdock challenged the club to raise at least $1600 for Big Brothers/Big Sisters this year. With the pledges still rolling in, it looks like the Howell teams will raise in excess of $2400! Nice job coordinating this event, Dan.
Bowling for Pins Away were Dan and his wife Karen, Pat Convery, Bob Bezotte, and Jim Gilligan.
      On Pins Away Too were
Kathy Zaenger and her daughter Samantha, Brent Earl, and John Rubio and his wife Jennifer. Daughter Emily Rubio came along to cheer us on.
This was a fun event with lots of friendly competition and fellowship with other Rotary clubs and community leaders.

                                          More Good News

John Rubio reports that he went through 19 hours(!) of treatments last week and he is already feeling better. He looked hale and hardy at the bowl-a-thon on Saturday. We're glad for you John!

                                            Groaners

I am sorry to do this to you, but we haven't heard a Don Williams joke for such a long time that I thought that you might want to hear some groaners that not even Don would tell us.

1.  "I wondered why the baseball was getting bigger.  Then it hit me."

2.  "Police were called to a day care center where a three-year-old was resisting a rest."

3.  "Did you hear about the guy whose whole left side did not work?  He is all right now."

4.  "To write with a broken pencil is pointless."

5.  "A thief fell and broke his leg in wet cement.  Over time he became a hardened criminal."

6.  "The dead batteries were given away free of charge."

7.  "A dentist and a manicurist fought tooth and nail."
