Welcome New Members Doris Stromer with Mott Community College and Jean Chaffee with PNC Bank.

Doris together with her husband, to whom she has recently donated her kidney, have three boys.  Two of her sons are in college one at MSU and the other at UofM, the third son has graduated and is working.  Doris herself is a graduate of MSU so during the initation questions she picked MSU as her school to cheer for, she also prefers Coke, she does bowl, she opens Christmas presents on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and she does not golf. Welcome Doris!

Jean and her husband with their 12 year old son have lived in Hartland for the past 16 years prior to that lived in Berkley.  In Jean's spare time she is dedicated to raising money for charities.  She most recently raised $12,000.00 for St. Jude in her backyard.  During her initation she expressed cheering for UofM, prefers Pepsi, she can bowl and has all the equipment to golf.  Jean opens presents on Christmas Day.  Welcome Jean!

Last Weeks Presentation Samantha Strasser

Samantha shared with us her wonderful experience while studying in Japan for 4 1/2 months.  Samantha became interested in all things Japanesse with the start of Mahjon(Japanesse comics).  Samantha studied at Sophia Universtiy in downtown Tokyo.  She joined the concert band that practiced twice a week once for 3 hours the other 4 hours and she played in two concerts.  Samantha was with 4 other Albion students, while there they lived with host families, Samantha's family was one hour away from the University.  Samantha was able to see many parts of Japan while there her favorite city to visit was Kyoto with the second favorite being Hiroshiama.  Samantha had a wonderful experience while in Japan along with strengthing her Japanesse language which she had studied for two years prior.  Smantha's plans after she graduates, not positive but thinking of doing an Internship in New Mexico related to Physics, her major.

Walk for Warmth February 12, 2011

OLSHA's annual Walk for Warmth is February 12th at the Hartland Educational Support Service Center. The event will raise funds to help struggling families heat their homes and pay for utilities.   Please sign up with Kathleen Zaenger
