Howell Rotary News - 2-7-11

Monday's Meeting is our Quarterly Club Assembly.  This is YOUR meeting; time to share ideas on the forward movement of the club, establish some plans and set some goals.  We have a few club business items to address such as sharing the YTD budget and year-end financial expectations.  We'll then hold committee break-out sessions and reconvene to report back to the club on a whole.  Don't worry if you're not on a specific committee already.  Your participation in whichever committee you choose is what's important!

Last week, Michael Markel, Chief Nursing Officer and Executive Director of Operations of St. Joseph Mercy Livingston Hospital spoke to the club.  His presentation was really informative, shared information about health care - local and beyond - and some of challenges and the progress of our local hospital system.  The "Stroke Robot" was on hand as was "Stan" the life-like training mannequin. 

Don't Forget - Walk for Warmth takes place next Saturday, Feb. 12^th from 9-noon.  Kathleen Zaenger is recruiting walkers for the Howell Rotary team.  If you're not able to walk, think about supporting a club member who is.  If you are a walker, wear your tennis shoes to Monday's meeting so everyone can see who they just might support!  All proceeds assist local heating emergency needs through O.L.H.S.A.

Other News..

Program Calendar:   Steve Manor and Jeanne Clum are working to solidify the program calendar through June.  We will keep the membership updated.  The program calendar on the Howell Rotary website has been updated.

Bowl For Kids is Saturday, March 12^th so dust off the old bowling ball, uncurl the shoes and come join us.  Dan Murdock is the coordinator for our club.  Howell Rotary is one of the front-runners in supporting this worthwhile event.  It's lots of fun and all proceeds support youth mentorship programs for at-risk youth in Livingston County.
