Today, February 25, 2008:  Fred Woodhams has asked Erica Karfonta from Gleaners, the food bank, to speak.   In this economy the need for food is often desperate, so anything that Rotary can do to help is important.  

Thursday, February 28: The Steering Committee meets at Cleary's to discuss club direction and activities.

Howell Rotarian Dan Murdock is captaining our Howell Bowlers in the annual Rotary Bowling Event to raise funds for Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
 
Dan is in need of Bowlers and Pledges.
 
A Howell Rotary Thanks to all those who joined Catherine Rae Dunning and Kim Dane, honorary chairman, for the annual Walk for Warmth last Saturday. Team Howell Rotary was led by Peter  Bowen, John Hubbell and his wife, Kathy Zaenger, David Yanga and his sister and Ron Hingst.

Ros Stuber, long time member of the Howell Rotary and now a Sunrise Rotarian, contributed funds for a cancer center in the county.  Ros, all will attest, has always been generous with his caring, time, and money to support worthy people and worthy causes.  Thanks to Ros! 
  

 


  A Winter Poem
 
It's winter in Michigan
And the gentle breezes blow
Seventy miles an hour
At twenty two below
Oh, how I love Michigan
When the snow's up to your butt
You take a breath of winter
And your nose is frozen shut
Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I'll hang around
I could never leave Michigan
Cause I'm frozen to the ground.
