Peter Bowen has invited officers of the Howell Interact Club, along with advisor Jennifer Starkey, to update the club's activities.  Many people know the Interact Club as a version of Junior Rotary with many community projects and activities.

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day.  Don't forget your sweetheart and spouse.  Of course, it sounds like a Hallmark Holiday.

Our Membership Committee is in the process of recruiting members to join the following committees. In what way will you help maintain the spirit of Howell Rotary?

a) the Interact committee supports and implements the development of youth in the community.  The committee oversees the Interact/Rotaract Club in the community, appoints a Rotary advisor to each as needed and supports these clubs to assure their success.  This committee will have 3 - 5 club members.  The committee chair will be mentored by Peter Bowen.

b) Sgt. of Arms Committee is responsible for raising funds at our weekly meetings.  This committee handles the 50/50 drawing.  In addition they oversee the "happy bucks donations."  If a club member is inclined to promote an upcoming event or something happy that has occurred, they can pay $1 and share this information with the club.  This committee has the latitude to fine club members for not wearing pins, for MSU losing a big basketball game, etc.

c) The Foundation Committee will be responsible for forming a Howell Rotary Foundation.

d) The Membership Committee will be responsible for finding, inviting, and keeping interested and involved new and current members of the Rotary Club.  This committee assigns Rotarians to committees, plans awards for top recruiters, and volunteers, schedules member biographies and more. 6 or more members.

"It is one of the beautiful compensations of this life that no one can sincerely try to help another without helping himself."
