Monday's speaker will be Cayden Taipalus.  Cayden Taipalus was a third grader at Challenger Elementary in Howell last year when he witnessed a child get denied a hot lunch because of no money on his lunch account. The child instead was offered a cheese sandwich. He came home and wanted to know how he could help kids out. He and his mom came up with Pay It Forward: No Kid Goes Hungry. Cayden called family, friends, neighbors and even took back cans to raise money to pay off low income kids delinquent lunch accounts at school. He not only paid off the accounts but added money to them so the child had no future worries about lunches. The donation response has been wonderful so Cayden is continuing on to other elementary schools to help out more kids.

He has been featured on the Disney channel and Woman’s day magazine.  He has also been honored for his efforts by the Elmer’s foundation and received gifts.    

Salvation Army Bell Ringing

The Howell Rotary Club will be bell ringing on November 13 at the Krogers in Howell on M59.  There will be shifts available all day with Interact students helping in the evening.  Jesse Parsley will have sign up sheets on Monday's meeting.  Please direct any questions to Jesse.
