Monday's speaker will be Brian Byrd from the Livingston Sunrise Rotary Club.  Brian will be talking about the substance abuse problem in our community youth.  

Tour de Livingston

Thank you for all of the volunteers and riders in the 2014 Tour de Livingston!  The day was a great success and many riders complimented the Tour.  We will have an update on the funds raised for the United Way basic needs fund in the coming weeks.  

Salvation Army Bell Ringing

It's that time of year again - Salvation Army Bell ringing time is getting near.  Please let Patti know if you would be willing to coordinate the Rotary member schedule for this event.

Big Futures Program - Looking for potential sponsors:

The Big Futures Program (high school students that are matched with elementary school students) that was previously put on by Big Brothers/Big Sisters has been cut due to budget restraints.  The program was able to continue in Fowlerville due to a sponsorship by Asahi Kasai.  Interact members have been very involved in this previously and are very upset it not continuing.  In the past some of the students continue to stay in touch as they have bonded.  These relationships make a difference in the lives of the children.  The Rotary members have been asked if there is any interest in sponsorship (even partially) to keep this program at the school in Howell.  The estimated cost is between $2,500 and $3,000.  If there is any interest in sponsorship please contact Patti.
