This week's speaker will be Claudia Nafsu from Saint Joseph Mercy Hospital Hospice Care and Volunteer Coordination.  Claudia will be speaking about Ted and Jane's Camp Courage.  Ted and Jane’s Camp Courage is an overnight camp for children and teens ages 6 -17 who have experienced the death of a significant person in their life. We have planned the camp experience to be a fun-filled weekend, yet one which will help each camper to understand, express and share their feelings of grief.

Children who attend stay in cabins with others of similar age and same gender. Each child is assigned an adult “Buddy” who will provide a listening ear, careful supervision throughout the weekend and a friendly face at each activity. Registered nurses and counselors are also available on site at all times. Through a variety of guided activities, children will have an opportunity to express their grief. There will also be opportunities for the campers and Buddies to explore the many camp and sport activities

Golf Outing.  Our club is sponsoring a golf outing to support the dog park in Howell.  Volunteers and donations are still needed.  Please see Steve Manor for more details and to volunteer.  Steve has created a registration form that was e-mailed to all members.  For additional copies of the form please contact Steve Manor.

Save the date for Melonfest! August 15-17.  We will need volunteers for the ice cream sales.  More information will be provided in upcoming newsletters and meetings.
