December 17, 2007:
Today, December 17, 2007: One of the highlights of the year - the annual visit from the Howell High Chorale with Rod Bushey, the director. They will help us celebrate the last meeting of 2007 with a Holiday and Christmas time concert. We will have a large attendance, so come early and stake out your seat.
Howell Rotarian Rick Sigler was a one-man show in steering the Howell Rotary Holiday Raffle into a positive fundraiser for our club. At Cleary's Pub last Wednesday, several Rotarians gathered to draw 10 winning tickets worth $5000. Winning tickets were sold by Ron Hingst, Jeff Hanson, Jim Gilligan, Maria Stuart, Rick Sigler, Mike Hall, and Max Rumbaugh.
The good news: the effort netted $721. The bad news: Rick, who was worried that we would not break even, personally sold 175 tickets and purchased 44 of them at the last minute in the name of the United Way. Unfortuantely, 20 club members did NOT participate and we missed out on making another $3950 on the table. Former president Jim Gilligan sold 55 tickets.
Nice Job Rick!!!
We will address our Fundraising efforts at our Club Assembly and first meeting of 2008 on January 7th.
On behalf of Howell Rotary, a most Blessed Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Prosperous New Year to our members, families and friends.
