August 7, 2006
Today, August 7, 2006: Jeanne Clum will discuss the 5th Annual Livingston County Day of Caring. This day will be Wednesday, August 23.? The project is designed "to increase volunteerism and public awareness of the health and human service needs" in our county. This day is directed at you, a Rotarian, to spend a 1/2 day (or a full day) helping someone. Our club goal is to have 10 Howell Rotarians participate this year. Mark it on your calendar then sign up at the meeting today!
Contrary to previous reports, the August Board of Directors meeting is today, right after the lunch meeting.
Upcoming Events:

Howell's First Abassadorial Scholar!
Congratulations to Sarah Heddon, our new Ambassadorial Scholar. This was made possible because Carol Griffith went the extra mile during her presidency and worked with Sarah and the District every step of the way. Here's Carol: "It will be so much fun to track the future of this very talented young lady. She will be required to address the Howell Rotarians a couple times throughout her travels.?If you recall, Sarah brought her great-grandfather, a?Dearborn Rotarian with 47 years perfect attendance, to our annual dinner in June." Nice job Carol.

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes
This is another public awareness event to help Lacasa to help abused women and children in Livingston County. Men, wearing women's shoes, will walk at the Tanger Outlet Mall. That indeed will draw attention. This event is Saturday, August 26 with registration at 9:30 and the walk at 10:30. Be there!
