August 16, 2010 Janet McPeek will attend our meeting, and as a reminder she will also be in attendance of the official board meeting at 11 am.
We still have some Melonfest Ice cream Sale times that need volunteers, the sign up sheet will be passed around the meeting for you to write your name in. Check your calendars and if you are available August 20, 21 or 22 please sign up or you can contact Renae Behr and let her know when you are avaialble.
The shirts are in! If you ordered a new Rotary shirt please bring check or cash to the meeting for Renae, the shirts are $18.00.
Anyone interested in golfing in the Rotary Golf Outing at Majestic on Sept 23, 2010, please let Molly Burk know (burk74@sbcglobal.net)
New Membership Program
Bring a presepctive member your name will go in a drawing, if the new member joins your name will go in the drawing again, the more guests you bring and the more that become members increases your chances of winning a $50.00 gift card. Be sure to sign your member in when they attend the meeting, in order to get your name entered.
Last Weeks Meeting
The annual picinc got moved inside due to weather, but it was still a good time enjoyed by all in attendance. There were many historical facts shared, some great stories and samples of Melon Ice Cream passed around.

Happy Birthday to Harry Griffith who celebrated the awesome 80!
Rotary Moment
Fred Woodhams grew up in Howell and is a UofM graduate. Fred taught English in a private school while his wife was a social worker with the state. Together the two of them are bringing their 18 yr old daughter to WMU this fall for her first year. Fred enjoys reading and 14 years ago started a book club at the Howell Library which he attends every Monday. Fred shared with us his drama background in which he played a corpse on Arsenic and Old Lace, a thug in 42nd Street and a waiter in Cabaret. Besides being famous he also comes from a family of Rotarians in which his father was the first Paul Harris winner.
