Pat Convery, our hard working Chamber Leader, will introduce Howell City Manager Shea Charles at the weekly Howell Rotary Club meeting August 10th. Shea will update Howell Rotarians and their guests on the Master Plan for Howell.

Our Howell Rotary President Jeff Hansen, living our creed "Service Above Self," volunteered his services for the Annual Howell Melon Fest, and Rotarians are being asked to volunteer their time for Ice Cream Sales at this fun time for our Community. Contact Jeff at jhansen@nettworth.net . Proceeds from the event are used to fund kids' projects in the area, and Jeff reports that volunteers are especially needed Friday evening and Saturday afternoon. Check out the event site www.howellmelonfestival.com

Speaking of Service, the Howell Rotary will once again send a contingent of members to a project at the United Way's Annual Day of Caring on Wed, August 19th, so if you have note signed up please do so.

Jeff Hansen, Kim Dane and Jeanne Clum and their merry band of Tour de Livingston Rotarians are busy organizing the 2009 Tour de Livingston. Total Howell Rotary Club involvement is the goal so if you have not signed up please do so. Volunteers are needed to mark the course, stuff bags, and there will be volunteers needed to man the course and two shifts of workers on the day of the event October 10th.

Finally, a couple of Howell Rotary Legends are on the HRUTAML (Howell Rotary Unable to Attend Meetings List) due illness. John Hubbell is recovering from a Heart Ailment and Dr. Bill Earle who is on the mend from a stroke at MedALodge.

Keep both John and Bill in your thoughts and prayers and if you have a chance drop them a line or pay them a visit.
