August 1, 2011
The Howell Rotary Club will meet for lunch from 12:00 to 1:15 on Monday August 1, 2011 in the Community Room of the St. Joseph Mercy Livingston Hospital.
We will have a 2 part program. First, Brenda Ochodnicky, our area coordinator, will present a 5 minute CD recorded message from District Governor Steve Youtz.
The second part of our program is a presentation by Sam Vasiu and Milt Sandling in an interview format with Sam interviewing Milt. It promises to be entertaining and informative.
Remember, we need your help during the Melon Fest with our Melon Ice Cream sales. Several signed up last week and we’ll have the sign-up sheets posted again on Monday. Take a minute when you first arrive to volunteer for at least 2 shifts. The money we make from this project supports a number of our projects.
Also, please sign up to spend the morning of August 17th helping United Way with the Day of Caring. Your service will assist a family in our community with their basic needs. All of us who participated in the past know how rewarding it is to take part in this project. Do it again and get the “good feeling” again. Do it for the first time and you’ll be very pleased with the reward you’ll experience.
At last week’s Club business meeting we approved the Club Board membership. In addition to your President and President-Elect, you approved Dan Murdock to continue as Secretary, Greg Clum to continue as Treasurer, Jeanne Clum as Sargeant-at-Arms, and Dennis Perkins and Ron Wilson as Directors-at-Large. In addition, Committee Chairs will serve on the Board and they are: Pat Convery, Membership Chair; Sandie Cortez and Patti Griffith – Projects Co-Chairs; Jeff Blagg – Rotary Foundation Chair; and Candie Jones-Guerin – Public Relations.
The membership also approved the proposed 2011-12 budget. Your assessment, including Lunch, will remain at $500. That’s due and payable immediately or as soon after that as possible. Greg thanks you in advance for your promptness.
See you Monday.
