Mondays Meeting:The Livingston County Trauma Informed Assessment Team is made up of business professionals including social workers, medical doctors, psychologists, occupational therapists and physical therapists. Using a series of specialized evaluation tools, assessments they explore the cognitive, behavioral and physiological effects on functioning that exposure to traumatic events as a result of child abuse and/or neglect has on children ages birth to 18 years. The purpose of the Trauma Informed Assessment is to gather critical information from the multiple domains of a young person's life that can be synthesized into recommendations that ultimately lead to an overall improvement in day-to-day functioning of the child. Presenters will be Bobette Schrandt and Candy Jones Guerin from LACASA. We're pursuing our club's support of the Hartland Rotary's clothing to Haiti project. They're looking for assistance to ship the items to those in need. Candy Jones Guerin has taken on chairmanship of Balloonfest Parking for this year. Mark your calendars to help us out, have some fun the weekend of June 25-27. Note: there are some great sit-down, security-type jobs available in the morning and afternoon Friday. We just need to sign up early so we can get these specific spots. Stay tuned for more information. We're also seeing if any sophomore or junior student from Howell High School might want to participate in the mid-May RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership) conference. Our club may send one or two, depending on interest and available funds. This might be an outstanding way to recruit new Howell Interact Club members and leadership. The Tour de Livingston Planning Committee meets on Friday, April 30th at 8 a.m. at the Howell Chamber building…all are welcome to join us!
