Today, April 18, 2005: Sally Vaughn, Superintendent of LESA, will discuss the upcoming Millage. The "Letters to the Editor" section of the LCP has several comments from citizens, most of whom have opposed the passage of this millage. People are feeling strapped with taxes, gas prices, etc. Thus, today's program should be very interesting.
Jim Gilmore (Our friend currently President of the Sunrise Rotary) recently went through heart surgery and sent this e-mail: "I was on the cath table when I heard the doc say that the left anterior descending artery was 100% blocked and the main right artery was 90% blocked." Wondering why he was still alive, Jim learned that "two arteries migrate over to supply blood to the left side." Later Jim had triple bypass surgery. He is walking a half-mile a day and will be looking to a mile a day. He also recommends to "CHECK WITH YOUR PHYSICIAN" before starting a vigorous exercise program. He hopes to be back to work by May 1st. We wish him well.
Rotary Board is considering a Program by Lottery system so that ALL members will participate in presenting programs. The Board is hoping to have more Rotary International programs and possibly several well known speakers open to the public. It is apparent that the Board wants the public to be more aware of Rotary, thus helping membership and increasing interest in the programs.
