Marilyn Emerson has invited Janet Loesche, the director of Livingston Family Center. She will talk about "The Connection," the new emergency teen center in Howell.
Also, today is the Rotary Board meeting at 11 a.m.
Next Week: John Fellows has asked State Trooper Mike Sura to speak on "Identity Theft! One Rotarian's Experience."
April 24: Tom Lawrence is the program chair.
April 27: Steering Committee meets at Noon at Cleary's.
There is a new coffee table book coming out, and the Howell Carnegie District Library is in it! The book has selected 80 libraries across the country to be featured in a book called Libraries We Love. Our library's unique architecture is certainly highlighted: the classic 1904 with the 1994 modern addition. Anyway, Kathy's picture was on the front page of the LCPA. Congratulations to her and her staff and her board.
Also in the news: Ron Hingst has been doing his p.r. job. Our speaker today is featured in the paper.
Carol says "Thanks" to all the Rotarians who met last week to discuss various committee assignments and ideas.
Rotarians last week contributed $175 for the Interact Club, which sponsored a 5K race last week. Many Rotarians contributed more than their share! Thanks for your generosity.
Rotary is seeking a host for a student from Chile, Tomas Aravana, for the next seven weeks. The District does not want to send the student home early. If you can be a parent to this student for a couple months, everyone would appreciate it. Talk with Carol.
