Never give up on your dreams!

Our guest speaker this evening is Martin Åkesson, the General Manager of the Radisson Blu Malmö Hotel who decided to come back to his home town for the opportunity to manage a hotel he always had his eye on.

Starting his career in Malmö late 1980’s, Martin had always seen this hotel, where he was actually denied his first job, as an interesting opportunity if it ever came up. Martin will share some of this knowledge from the hotel business through the years but mostly focus on what are the keys to a successful hotel and why this hotel still fascinates him after 30 years.

Although educated as a construction engineer up in Stockholm, he has never worked an hour in that field but instead has made a career of the hospitality industry where he still finds it fun to come to work every day.

Challenges, changes through the years and what is in the future. We will also get the opportunity to look "behind the scenes" of the hotel that hosts our weekly Rotary meetings.
