Our guest speaker Nathaniel Oliver Iotti (he/him) is a PhD student at the Dept. of Psychology at Lund University where he does research on motivation and school bullying. Nathaniel has a background in queer activism and was elected as main spokesperson for the University of Turin’s (Italy) LGBTQI+ student collective between 2014-2015. He has been doing research in Psychology since 2014, and has published several articles in international scientific journals, as well as a number of international conference presentations.
He is also a licensed clinical psychologist in Italy, his native country, with an emphasis on child and adolescent psychology. Currently, he is shifting his research focus to hate speech and LGBTQI+ issues, and is in the process of designing several projects with his senior colleagues to tackle these topics. Tonight he will share what he has learned from the LGBTQI+ community through his studies, activism and personal experiences, growing up queer in Italy.
