Anna Hammargren is a Swedish diplomat who began her diplomatic service in 1991. Her presentation tonight is titled "The Swedish Foreign Service: How foreign and what service?"

During her time in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs (MFA or Utrikesdepartmentet), Anna has held key positions abroad and in MFA in Stockholm. Foreign postings have included Deputy Head of Mission at the Swedish embassy in Paris and Ambassador of Sweden in Morocco, Rabat among others. Having also worked with strategic planning, budgeting, and acting as special enjoy to various trouble spots, Anna is currently Head of Administration (Expeditionschef) based in Stockholm.

Anna has a degree in Political Science, Macroeconomics and History, is married with three children and currently lives in Stockholm. This evening Anna will share with us some insights and reflections on Sweden's foreign policy, why foreign policy, in general, is important, and also why it is not enough.

This will be a hybrid meeting held at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Malmö, and virtually on Zoom, with Anna presenting from Stockholm via Zoom. A maximum of 15 participants will be permitted in the meeting room to allow for safe social distancing.
