The Rotaract Club of Kingston (RCOK) is committed to improving the quality of life within our communities through sustainable service initiatives that address pressing social challenges. Guided by Rotary International's commitment to improving health, education and community well-being, RCOK proposes Empowered to Flow, a year-long menstrual hygiene initiative designed to combat period poverty by increasing access to sanitary products for vulnerable girls and women.

Operating under the service theme "Com Serv Wid RCOK", this initiative reflects the Club's belief that when service is rooted in love, we restore dignity, remove barriers and empower individuals to thrive. No girl or woman should have to miss school, work or essential daily activities because she cannot afford basic menstrual hygiene products.

Empowered to Flow will establish a sustainable donation programme through strategically placed collection receptacles in supermarkets, pharmacies and corporate offices. Members of the public will be encouraged to donate sanitary products or contribute financially towards their purchase. Throughout the year, RCOK volunteers will host pop-up awareness and collection drives to educate shoppers about period poverty while encouraging participation in the initiative.

To commemorate Rotary's Basic Education and Literacy Month in September, the Rotaract Club of Kingston proposes a strategic partnership with the Elevate Mentorship Program to establish a structured mentorship initiative for children and adolescents from underserved communities. Through meaningful relationships, positive role models and consistent support, this initiative aims to empower young people to achieve personal, educational and career goals while developing confidence, resilience and hope for the future.

2. Project Overview

The RCOK Mentorship Initiative is designed to provide long-term mentorship rather than one-time engagement. Each Rotaractor will volunteer their time, knowledge and experience to mentor one or two young persons over a period of six to eight months.

Mentors and mentees will be thoughtfully matched before the programme launch based on factors such as:

• Career aspirations
• Educational interests
• Personal hobbies
• Shared goals
• Personality compatibility

The Rotaract Club of Kingston (RCOK) is committed to improving lives through meaningful community service. Guided by Rotary’s motto, Service Above Self, and inspired by the 2026–2027 District theme, Rooted in Love, the Club proposes to host a Community Health Fair under its annual service tagline COM SERV WID RCOK. The fair will improve access to preventive healthcare while strengthening partnerships between healthcare providers, sponsors, government agencies and the community.
