Katie Scott is a cardiovascular ICU nurse at University of Michigan Hospital, mom to a teenager and a huge proponent of organized labor as a way of creating a voice for people in the workplace.  She has a degree in English which focused on Irish literature, women's studies and ethnography, and is currently in grad school at George Washington University in D.C. for a Masters in Public Health focusing on health policy.  As if all that wasn’t enough, Katie is also the new County Commissioner representing district 9 in Washtenaw County!  She will talk to us about the important role played by women in the Union movement, which began in response to abuses of workers (Including children) during the industrialization of the country in the late 1800’s.
Join us on Zoom Monday, May 24th from 12pm-1pm!
