Roger Webster has been a Super Rotarian for 50 + years.  He joined The Rotary Club of Troy, Michigan, April 1, 1970, and took pride in having 100% attendance until April 1, 2020.  He attended Troy Rotary regularly and made up any meeting he could not attend in person.  He made up over 300 meetings by visiting clubs around Michigan, in other states around the US, and in three continents including countries such as Canada, Japan and Switzerland.  Adventures included meeting other Rotarians and learning from a variety of speakers.  Challenges included locating meetings using pre-internet maps.

Roger is a key member of Troy Rotary because he is always where his service and wise actions and words are needed.  As Meeting Facilitator, he arrives early to set up banners and flags and assists with clean up after.

Service Above Self is an important part of Roger’s dedication to Rotary.  He has long been an important part of the team when Troy Rotary prepared and served meals at the Hope Warming Center in Pontiac.  Just this week Roger was part of the team again when Troy Rotary packed snack packs for homeless kids served by Motor City Mitten Mission.

Roger’s contributions over the years to Troy Rotary fundraisers is invaluable.  For example, for Pot ‘O Gold Roger coordinated the Silent Auction.  For Viva la Vino Roger coordinated the Silent Auction.

A party celebrating Roger’s 50 years in Rotary was set for March 2020, then rescheduled to August 14, 2021, due to COVID.  What a pleasure to honor Roger Webster, a Super Troy Rotary Member!
