Our speaker, Steve Shotwell from Ford Piquette Plant shared with the members the history of Henry Ford's most popular vehicle, the Model T.  Did you know that there were several other Models including a popular N Model?  The Ford Piquette Plant is the birthplace of the Model T and after a 25 year search, Steve's mom was able to locate his grandfather's (her father) Model T, which is his pride and joy.

He amused the crowd with a story about a phone call from Jay Leno who wanted to borrow his vehicle and another Model T for a street race with Tim Allen down Woodward.  You can actually see the video of this race on the episode of Jay Leno’s Garage (https://www.cnbc.com/video/2018/05/01/jay-and-time-allen-race-down-one-of-detroits-iconic-streets-in-a-classic-car.html).  It was pretty hilarious!

Don’t miss next week’s meeting when we welcome Laura Burton from Forgotten Harvest.
