Saturday morning, May 20, 2023, a group gathered at Rotary Park in Pontiac to celebrate Earth Day one month later, when the weather was supposed to be more hospitable than April 22 and as not wet.  We sincerely thank the brave volunteers who ventured out into the cold (but fortunately not wet!) to make Rotary Park a little nicer for Pontiac residents.

The weather did not exactly cooperate, but the volunteers and Rotarians did!  Together we picked up litter, and other stuff (kid's abandoned basketball hoop etc.), trimmed brush and trees, and planted two trees!  It is rumored that a certain Rotarian bought a trailer on his way to the clean up and left with it full of the trimmings!  As you can see by the final picture below, not all of the trimmings fit into said trailer.  The hard work paid off as we found Captain America and cleared a place for new garden.  Sustenance was necessary after all that and a warming lunch was found Downtown at Filmore13.  (more photos available in the photo album on our home page)
