Community Development Director Michael Hansen
This week, on Thursday, September 17th, at noon, we have a field trip to the City of Pontiac featuring speaker Community Development Director, Michael Hansen.
Michael has over 25 years of experience addressing policy issues for a diverse slate of international, federal, and state government agencies, including the Kurdistan Regional Government in Iraq, the United States Army, and the Kentucky Department of Education. Most recently, he served as Senior Director of Research & Analysis at Bedrock, evaluating potential development opportunities including the Renaissance Center redevelopment in Detroit. As Community Development Director for the City of Pontiac, he leads four Divisions, managing multiple initiatives that foster economic growth and job creation, including business recruitment and retention, workforce development, promoting housing development, and guiding responsible land use. Michael holds a PhD in Economics from Boston College, with a specialization in labor economics and applied econometrics, and a BA in Economics and Business from Kalamazoo College.
NEW THIS WEEK! We are working on a new lunch provider, but in the meantime, you are welcome to brown bag it!!! Yep, the programs are fascinating, and worth a little inconvenience in the short term. If you have any suggestions for a new boxed lunch, please share.
