We Can Be Heroes (WCBH)  is a feature-length documentary film that follows the life of Taylor "Machine Gun" Duerr, a wrold class boxer from Detroit, who is also a struggliing heroin addict. The film chronicles Taylor's journey as he trains for the fight of his life-- a shot at the WBC Cruzer Weight title -- while battling the demons of addiction. WCBH offers an unflinching glimpse at these two worlds -- addiction and boxing -- as they collide in one individual. The film is an exploraiton of strength, endurance, and most importantly how love and redemption can be found in the darkest moments of our toughrst fights.

Doors open at 6:30pm.

The screening is free and open to the public and will followed by a Q&A with the Taylor Duerr, the film's subject, and director Mike Ramsdell. A panel discussion with mental health and substance abuse disorder experts will be included.
