Program:
Program host Mike McManus introduced Colleen Brothers and Nina Kranz from the American Red Cross Disaster Relief. Colleen and Nina brought the American Red Cross Disaster Response Truck for the Club to view how they provide relief to victims and emergency responders. Food, clothing, shelter and emotional support are provided at each disaster through many community partners including, St. Joseph Mercy Livingston, Mental Health, fire and police departments, local restaurants, the Southern Baptist Group of Fenton, and soon-our own Rotary Raiders. Disasters that are handled include home fires (#1 issue), apartment fires, flooding, tanker spills, and barricaded gunmen. The vehicle covers the entire Livingston County Area (8 fire departments) and once received 13 assistance calls within a 24 hour period-and each was handled in a timely fashion!
50/50 Drawing: $100 won by Sharon Kartes.
