Birthday.  Carole Bullion-Mincy was serenaded by a Stan Schafer solo.  Quite good actually.

 

Bill Anderson reminded that the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Bowling is this Saturday on March 9th from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM.    Our Club will be represented by Peggi Mintz, Rachele Evers, Jeff Toole, Mitch Zoldowski & Bill Anderson.  Help our Club raise the most funds among Livingston County Rotarians!

Bryan Bradford announced that there is a Sunrise Big Brothers/Big Sisters Bowling Event this Friday night from 8:30 – 10:30.

The Lip-Stync meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 7 at 5:30 at the Chamber.

District Conference is April 26 and 27.  George and Melanie Moses and Jane and Mike McManus will be attending.

Jane McManus said that checks for Polio Plus will be sent soon.  More donations are encouraged.

The VINA Dental Auction fundraiser is scheduled for 6pm Saturday, March 16th at the Johnson Center.  Mike Hatty reminded the Club that several vacation options will be available at the live and silent auction.  Tickets are $75 per person, including dinner and music, and can be purchased at www.vinadental.org.

Mike McManus talked about attending the Ann Arbor West charter meeting.  They’re on Monday evenings at The Quarter Bistro.

Michael Southgate has a trip planned for London.

 

News of Rotarians helping others:  Mike Hatty thanked Michelle Bouhana for staying late to give him a much needed haircut.

            Michelle Bouhana spoke about how great Carole Bullion-Mincy has been as a new member working at Gleanor’s.

            Julie Fessler thanked Tony Gelardi for carrying Fessler’s Original Sauce in their market Simply Fresh.

 

Rotary Moment:  Melanie Moses spoke of that special day – July 28, 1987 – when she officially became a Brighton Rotarian and also the first female Rotary member in Livingston County.  That opened up the door to eleven new female members in the first year of eligibility making the club stronger by an order of magnitude.

There will be seven shows:

·         May 4              7:30 PM

There is a Red Carpet Gala on April 27th to support funding the show plus providing scholarships.  Price is $40 per person and includes premiere seating, a backstage tour and an afterglow party.

 

There will also be a separate Enchanted Tea Party for kids that will be hosted by Mrs. Potts and Chip.  $10 per person

 

Facts:

 

110 students will be involved in this year’s production.  An “Environment of  Excellence” is created for the student experience that involves Teamwork, Leadership, Community and Marketing.

 

The number of students who continue on in Performing Arts has doubled over the past four years.

 

200 parents will be involved in everything from set making, costumes and marketing.
