Anchor Bay Rotary Club

Scholarship Program and Applications

The Anchor Bay Rotary is happy to continue to be able to provide a $1000 (One Thousand Dollars) scholarship to one graduate of the Class of 2021 of each of the public schools within our club boundaries.

We will award a scholarship available to these graduates:

  • One to a member of the graduating class of Anchor Bay High School, and
  • One to a member of the graduating class of New Haven High School.

All scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis and are not guaranteed.  Applicants are required to provide information that is specified in the application and we review all applicants in light of this information and our criteria.  There are very specific requirements that must be met to receive the scholarship funds.

The deadline for all applications was Friday, April 16, 2021.  We are currently reviewing the applications look forward to announcing the scholarship award winners soon.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the people from New Baltimore and New Haven that took the time to participate in our Red Cross Blood Drive.  We would also like to thank Haven Place in New Haven for working with us and providing a place to hold the Blood Drive.  Because of your donation, and with the help of the other volunteers and nurses, we were able to collect 25 pints of blood.

Of course, the real winners here are the patients, who are in need of blood.  As you know, each blood donation can help save up to three lives.  Your donation is truly appreciated by the blood recipients, their loved ones, and all of the members of Anchor Bay Rotary.

We hope to schedule another blood drive in the future.  You help make Rotary a winning team and we are grateful for your time, generosity, and dedication to helping others.

Thanks again.

Tenth Annual Anchor Bay Rotary
Fun Run

Once again, this year, the Anchor Bay Rotary will sponsor a 5K Fun Run on Saturday, June 26, 2021, in conjunction with the Bay Rama Fishfly Festival.  Last year, due to the Covid pandemic, and the cancellation of the Bay-Rama Festival, we held a Virtual Fun Run  This year, we will return to our Saturday morning running event.

Potential June 26 Race 5K Participant Information -

We are working with Bay-Rama to plan this year’s 5K Race/Walk.  While the Bay Rama organization is working out plans for the festival, we are planning the 5K event.  Registration forms for the event will be made available, here, as soon as the schedule for the Festival and our event are finalized.
Just a reminder that participants in the Fun Run will need to know:
  • Runners will be able to Pre-Register for the Fun Run ON-LINE.  Watch here for a link to our Pre-Registration site and register and pay your registration fee. If you Pre-Register by April 1, 2021, our fee is $20.00, which must be received by April 1, 2021.  Between April 1 and May 1, the Pre-Register fee is $30.00.  After May 1, the Registration Fee will be $40.00.  Students (With a valid Student ID) have a Registration Fee of $15.00.  Registration will end on June 24, 2021.  There will not be on-site registration available at the event.  The race will begin at the corner of Washington Street and Front Street at 8:30am.
  • All Registrations received will receive a T-Shirt.  However, if the Registration is received after June 1, we will not be able to guarantee a T-Shirt in the appropriate size.  We will do our best.
  • Timing is included for all participants.
  • With race issues and Covid-19, we will be making plans to have T-shirts and Race Bibs available for all paid participants near the starting line on Race Day.  Please watch here for more information as we get closer to Race Day.
  • Awards will be made to the Overall Finishers, both Male and Female.  There will also be Awards to finishers, Male and Female, in age categories.  Please see the Registration Application (when posted) for more information.
  • In addition, participants 21 years of age or older on race day will receive one complimentary beer in the festival tent following the race.  Please be sure to bring your ID to registration on race day.  No exceptions!
However, in keeping with Covid-19 protocols, all participants will need to know that for this event:
  • All runners will be required to wear a mask when not racing.
  • We will begin the race with a "staggered start" rather than the group start that we have used in the past.  Participants will start the race separated by 6-feet for social distancing at the start line.  We do understand that it is difficult, if not impossible, to maintain a 6-foot distance between participants once the race starts, but we will encourage all participants to be sensitive to social distancing requirements.
  • And lastly, we will not be presenting medals and awards at the end of the race.  After the race and all results are finalized, we will be mailing (by USPS Mail) a medal and any awards received to participants (So an accurate address on the registration form is important).
  • We thank you in advance for your understanding.

In addition, the registration form and ability to pay the registration fee on-line is also available.  Click here to go to our registration and payment site.

In addition, we are always looking for local sponsors for this event.  If you are able and interested in helping sponsor this event, we have created two categories --- T-Shirt Sponsor and Event Sponsor.  If you are interested, please contact us.

To participate in the Fun Run as a sponsor, Download the Sponsor Form and Information HERE.

Funds raised through this event support various local and international activities of Rotary International.  In addition, our primary goal is to provide a scholarship to a student of the graduating class of Anchor Bay High School and New Haven High School to defray the costs of their education after graduation.
