Scholarship Program and Applications

The Anchor Bay Rotary is happy to continue to be able to provide a $1000 (One Thousand Dollars) scholarship to one graduate of the Class of 2023 of Anchor Bay High School and New Haven High School.

We will award a scholarship available to these graduates:

  • One to a member of the graduating class of Anchor Bay High School, and
  • One to a member of the graduating class of New Haven High School.

All scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis and are not guaranteed.  Applicants are required to provide information that is specified in the application and we review all applicants in light of this information and our criteria.  There are very specific requirements that must be met to receive the scholarship funds.  It is the responsibility of the recipient to know and meet these requirements to receive the scholarship.

The Office of the High School Guidance Counselor at each of the high schools will have a copy of the application and its instructions.   A copy of the application can also be downloaded by selecting this link.  Download Anchor Bay Rotary Scholarship Application Here.

All applications must be received by the April 14, 2023 deadline.  No applications will be accepted after this date.  Applications are available from the Guidance Office at each high school.  All applications should be returned to the following address:

Kathy D. Vosburg, Scholarship Chairperson
Anchor Bay Rotary
PO Box 444
New Baltimore MI 48051

It is the responsibility of the applicant to pay close attention to the April 14, 2023 deadline.  Our Scholarship Committee will review all applications after this date and will announce the recipients at the upcoming honors convocations.

Twelfth Annual Anchor Bay Rotary
Fun Run/Walk
Once again, this year, the Anchor Bay Rotary will sponsor a 5K Fun Run on Saturday, June 24, 2023, in conjunction with the Bay Rama Fishfly Festival.  Although Michigan is still experiencing Covid cases, we will continue our Saturday morning running event with great caution.
Potential June 24 Race 5K Participant Information -
We are working with Bay-Rama and are in the final stages for this year’s 5K Race/Walk.  Registration forms for the event will be made available, here, as soon as the schedule for the Festival and our event are finalized.
Just a reminder that participants in the Fun Run will need to know:
  • Runners will be able to Register for the Fun Run ON-LINE.  Watch here for a link to our Registration site and register and pay your registration fee in advance. If your registration is received by June 1, 2023, our fee is $30.00.  Between June 1 and the Race, registration fee us $40.00.  LATE REGISTRATION will be accepted up to 30-minutes before we start the race in the tent.  Late registration will open at 7:15am.  The race will begin at the corner of Washington Street and Front Street at 8:30am.

  • All Registrations received will receive a Race Bib and T-Shirt.  However, if the Registration is received after June 1, we will not be able to guarantee a T-Shirt in the appropriate size.  We will do our best.
  • Timing is included for all participants.
  • With possible issues regarding Covid-19, please watch here for more information as we get closer to Race Day.
  • Awards will be made to the Overall Finishers, both Male and Female.  There will also be Awards to finishers, Male and Female, in age categories.  Please see the Registration Application (when posted) for more information.
  • In addition, participants 21 years of age or older on race day will receive one complimentary beer in the festival tent following the race.  Please be sure to bring your ID to registration on race day.  No exceptions!
However, in keeping with continuing Covid-19 protocols, all participants also need to know that for this event:
  • All runners should wear a mask when not racing, but this is NOT required,
  • We will begin the race with a "staggered start" rather than the group start that we have used in the past.  Participants will start the race separated by 6-feet for social distancing at the start line.  We do understand that it is difficult, if not impossible, to maintain a 6-foot distance between participants once the race starts, but we will encourage all participants to be sensitive to social distancing requirements.
  • Lastly, this year, we will be presenting medals and awards at the end of the race.
In addition, we are always looking for local sponsors for this event.  If you are able and interested in helping sponsor this event, we have created two categories --- T-Shirt Sponsor and Event Sponsor.  If you are interested, please contact us.
Sponsor Applications are available NOW.  Please CLICK HERE to download a 2023 Sponsor Registration Form when available.
Funds raised through this event support various local and international activities of Rotary International.  In addition, our primary goal is to provide a scholarship to a student of the graduating class of Anchor Bay High School and New Haven High School to defray the costs of their education after graduation.
