As we approach the end of June each Rotary year, we hold our Changeover event where we celebrate the service and accomplishments of the past 12 months and vote in our new slate of officers. On June 13, we gathered at the Isham Farm Barn to thank outgoing club President Susan Cote, Secretary Phil Stevens and Treasurer Jeanne Albertson. They have been terrific stewards of the club's resources and helped keep us organized and effective. We're grateful for their leadership! Susan also thanked committee chairs Sherry Pidgeon, Vince Conte, Lesley Murray, Andy Mikell, Chris Burns-DiBiasio, Barb LeWinter and Marty LeWinter for their outstanding contributions.
Our members welcomed incoming officers President Elizabeth Davidson, Secretary Sherry Pidgeon and Treasurer Andy Mikell, as well as President-Elect Vince Conte and Vice President Chris Burns-DiBiasio.
Additional highlights of the evening included:
- The presentation of a grant of $6542.12 to Matt Cota of the Vermont Fuel Dealers Association for the Split the Ticket home heating fuel assistance program, an annual recipient of our club's charitable giving. We were thrilled to greatly increase our donation this year due to our successful Bill Skiff Story Slam event and improved community fundraising results.
- Two generous recognitions through donations to the Rotary Foundation:
- A Paul Harris Fellowship award graciously given by Armand Fournier and Lesley Murray to Susan Cote.
- A special Rotary International acknowledgement to the staff and owners of the Williston Observer recognizing the weekly paper's importance as a trusted local news and community resource, magnanimously given by Barb LeWinter.
