Our speaker was Eric Axelrod, President of Wood4Good, a Jericho nonprofit that provides wood heating assistance to needy Vermonters. A friend of Rotary and previous speaker from 2023, Eric's nonprofit is expanding leaps and bounds. With wood increasing to $550/cord, 40% of Vermonters have wood as a source of heating (not all fully wood), and finances getting tighter, some Vermonters had to forego heat for food and meds. In steps in our hero, Wood4Good, to supply 1.2 cords per household. Great cause. Great presentation.
