Learning about food systems
Grace Gray, CSA director at Jericho Settlers Farm, shared her talk "Reimagining Food Systems" with us on August 29. She discussed the large and growing number of Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs) in the US and the negative environmental, health and economic outcomes associated with them. We learned about a range of alternatives from regenerative agriculture practices to cultivated meat that have the potential to better support human and animal rights, as well as the environment.
Grace will soon be entering a master's degree program in Sustainable Food Policy at the American University in Rome.
