On July 31 we welcomed Zoie Aguillon and Jack Thorley-Doucette, two rising juniors who our club sponsored to attend this year's Rotary Youth Leadership Academy (RYLA) in June.

Zoie enjoyed the group challenges where participants learned how to communicate better, how to adapt to each other's communication styles, and how to collaborate.  She shared that she learned that leadership "is about listening and working with others."

Jack, who feels that he is a natural leader, said that he had to learn when to step back and let others take the lead, as well as different ways to communicate effectively.

Both students were glad to have taken part and are ready to help us spread the word about the opportunity to sophomores at their school next year.
