The Future of Downtown Calgary – Market Share

This year's Rotary International Convention was in Calgary June 21-26, a convenient location for international travel in North America. The RI Convention rotates continents, coming to North America on average every 4 years.

This year, Sally Stock-well Metro, Debbie Ingram and Vince Conte embarked on the journey for learning, fellowship, and some fun sight-seeing, along with 15,000 other Rotarians who took over the town. Sessions were held and booths were set up on a variety of topics including club strengthening, Rotary's 7 areas of focus in separate sessions, global projects to start or join, and a myriad of fellowship groups to join. There will be a club talk later this year from the 3 attendees on their experiences in Calgary.

Did you know there is a Chess fellowship? A wine fellowship? An LGBTQ fellowship? A birdwatching fellowship? A horse riding fellowship? An AI fellowship? Over 100 international fellowships are in place to connect members with like passions. Some are free and some have a meager one-time for life registration fee.

Next year's 2026 RI Convention is in TaiPei, Taiwan, so for those of you who want to travel / see the world and get better engaged with all things Rotary, registration and housing is open today. I highly recommend the experience (Vince).
