On April 24th, Jodi Girouard, Presentation Coordinator for NAMI Vermont, shared some of her life experience with our club. Jodi Girouard has been writing since she learned to hold a pencil.  She spends time writing for others to uplift spirits and bring more compassion to the world.  She has written four books, and the latest one, "The Long Hall," is her experience at a psychiatric hospital where little treatment was provided.  It was through writing about escaping into the framed Vermont Landscapes along the hallway that helped her begin her healing process.  Her previous memoir, "Living with the Neighbors," is about living with severe mental health conditions and reaching out for help through faith, nature, and communities. Jodi's presentation was truly inspiring.
