January 28 - Kathryn Blume, Executive Director of Vermontivate & Karen McKenny
As the COP21 climate talks continue in Paris, many Vermonters may wonder what they can personally do to mitigate the worst of climate change. Given the Rotary Club's ideal of service, along with your ongoing search for knowledge with a wide range of speakers, you may wish to learn more by inviting Kathryn Blume, Executive Director of Vermontivate to come to one of your meetings for a presentation and training. Vermontivate is a hybrid live action/online game designed to encourage Vermonters of all ages to have fun while they significantly change personal actions and build community resilience while working together for systems change.
March 10 – John DeDakis - “From Journalist to Novelist”
Emmy award-winning journalist and author John DeDakis will be in Vermont next spring. John is a former White House Correspondent, former Senior Copy Editor for CNN's "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer,” and author of three mystery-suspense novels featuring a strong female protagonist. In addition, he teaches journalism at The University of Maryland-College Park and leads writing workshops here and abroad.
