The 2024 Deb Beckett Memorial 5K Run & Walk takes place on Saturday, July 6 at Williston's Village Community Park. Runners and walkers of all levels are welcome. We'll be having a visit from Champ of the Vermont Lake Monsters to cheer our athletes on!
For full details and to pre-register for the 5K Run/Walk visit the Williston Recreation and Parks website HERE. Those who pre-register are guaranteed a race t-shirt and souvenir water bottle. The deadline for pre-registration is June 16, 2024. Same-day registration will also be available.
Kids Run: This year will also feature both a ½ mile and a 1-mile Kids Runs for children 4-12 years of age. Children may opt to participate in the 5K run/ walk or either of the Kids' Runs. There are no fees or pre-registration for the Kids’ Runs. An adult must accompany each participant to the race site and sign a registration form. The accompanying adult is welcome but not required to run with their child or children. Arrangements have been made for adults to run with and supervise the kids. Children should arrive for registration by 7:15 am for the 7:45 am start for the ½ mile and the 8:00 am start for the 1 mile.

Check-in for all walks or runs open at 7:00 AM. Please check in as early as possible. There will be signage from Williston Road to the registration/start area.
The annual Deb Beckett Memorial 5K honors a beloved Rotary and Williston community member who served for many years as Town Clerk and Treasurer, as well as serving her country in the Vermont National Guard. The annual event takes place each Independence Day weekend as part of the festivities in the town of Williston, which is fitting as Deb had so much enthusiasm for celebrations on the 4th. Importantly, the event also serves to raise funds for crucial community grants that support home heating fuel assistance, child mentoring, reading, scholarships and more.
