Gretchen Owens, Executive Director and founding member of EDD Adaptive Sports in Vermont, has dedicated over 25 years to EDD programs encourage people with disabilities to get out and play. EDD Adaptive Sports is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to creating sports programs for athletes with disabilities, and is named EDD is memory of her brother, Eric D Dettenrieder. Their goal is for people with disabilities to experience freedom, independence and adventure through participation in sports. 
 
Gretchen's heartwarming presentation touches on the lives positively affected for over 170 disabled athletes in VT and NY state. While starting out focused on skiing in the early days, the programs have expanded to basketball, soccer, kickball, running, pickleball and yoga.
