Wow. Leave it to this week’s song master Debbie Ingram to find a song that has never been sung before (at least not to the author’s knowledge) - Don’t Fence Me In. Yeehaw. Any other songs we haven’t dared to sing yet?

The Fur & Pearls formal is set for February 13 @ Catamount. The Green Mountain Swing Band will be laying down some serious tracks. Cost is $75/person or $125/couple.

Barb reported that our annual Thanksgiving Basket for Williston and Richmond families went off without a hitch. 40 baskets were packed and delivered (with 2 turkeys left over).

Our speaker was Anne MacLeod, Community Outreach and Development Coordinator for KidSafe Collaborative of Chittenden County. The program engages agencies, community groups and individuals to work together to improve our community's prevention of and response to child abuse and neglect by strengthening services and fostering cross-system collaboration among community-based human services agencies and the child welfare and criminal justice systems. KidSafe seeks to improve results for child victims of abuse and neglect and their familie by enhancing collaboration among more than 25 partners involved in community child protection and safety. The goals of the KidSafe Collaborative are too develop a continuum of family-centered services to prevent child abuse and neglect and to improve the systems that create community child protection.

Acting Sergeant at Arms Matt elicited the following:

  • Many members appreciated the speaker;

  • Sonja is thinking about her upcoming appointment about her knees;

  • Phil overate at Thanksgiving;

  • Sally for the new BoSox pitcher;

  • Lindsay says the Pack will be back tonight (spoiler alert: were they ever IF you stayed awake to see the last play of the game);

  • Barb was thankful for the help with the Basket project (yeah Barb and crew – well done again this year);

  • Rick M enjoyed great family time at Thanksgiving;

  • Bob entertained 24 people for Thanksgiving, mostly by serving them a 36 lb turkey (how does that even fit in an oven?) – most importantly there was no crying!;

  • Debbie paid a media fine for her efforts re: Syrian refugees;

  • Don noted that this is the 20th year of the Williston club;

  • Dave E enjoyed a recent event at the Flynn;

  • Howard for Sonja and a resolution to her knee issues – for a great family Thanksgiving – for the Redskins (though he didn’t say whether the team name is politically correct);

  • Mike for the bear in his Christmas tree patch (visited by the Governor);

  • Gary had a birthday (“5, 6, 7, 8 ….”) – for everything that the club does.

  • Deb, our favorite caterer and future Hall of Famer, reported that she will be out for 4 weeks following surgery.
