Mayor Ann Schwab

Ann Schwab is serving her third term as Mayor of the City of Chico.  Elected for office in 2004, Mayor Schwab has built a reputation as a strong leader, working hard to strengthen our economy, create jobs, achieve a balanced budget, and addressing community needs. 

Mayor Schwab’s work reflects her advocacy for our local economy, energy conservation, and social equity promotion.  Mayor Schwab serves on the City’s Finance Committee and is the Council’s liaison to the Chico Chamber of Commerce.  She chaired the original Sustainability Task Force which authored the Climate Action Plan.  Mayor Schwab is the chair of both the six-county Northern Sacramento Valley Integrated Regional Water Management Board and the Vina Groundwater Sustainability Agency Board.  Mayor Schwab led the efforts to write a Diversity Action Plan to promote inclusivity in government and accessibility to City services for all.

A graduate of California State University, Chico, Mayor Schwab has a combined 45 years of business management experience with a national retailer and with Campus Bicycles, which she owns with her husband, Budd. 

Mayor Schwab strongly believes in community service and practices this ethic in her professional and personal life.  As Program Manager for CAVE (Community Action Volunteers in Education), Mayor Schwab advised university students gaining valuable hands-on knowledge while serving our community. Mayor Schwab volunteers for Chico’s Park Watch and serves on the board of directors for United Way of Northern California and Chico Velo Cycling Club.
