Rotarians are volunteers from your home community building a network of friends who share skills and passions to make a difference at home and around the world.   We are:

Community Builders:  we work with community leaders on projects that have a real, lasting impact on peoples lives.

People of Action:  we connect passionate people with diverse perspectives to exchange ideas, form lifelong friendships and, above all, take action to change the world.

Problem Solvers:  together we apply our professional experience and personal commitment to tackle our communities' most persistent problems, finding new effective ways to enhance health, stability and prosperity across the globe.

We Work Differently.  We see differently - using a multidisciplinary perspective to solve challenges in unique ways.  We think differently - applying leadership and expertise to social issues, working with local communities to find solutions.  We act responsibly - using our passion and perseverance to create lasting change.  We make a different at home and globally.  Our members can be found in your community and around the world.

We Think Globally & Act Locally.  Our motto is Service Above Self and our guiding principles are service, fellowship, diversity, integrity and leadership.

Are you interested in joining this global network of 1.2 million business and professional leaders from over 200 countries and places, all volunteering their time and talents to serve their communities and the world?

Reasons why you should join a Rotary Club

Rotary is a community of friends who are committed to creating positive change in the world.

You'll make valuable connections with community leaders who care about the issues facing your community and your world. And you'll have the chance to apply your personal experience and professional skills to solve these challenges and create positive change.

As a member, you'll find opportunities to network and develop your professional skills. You can take the lead in developing projects, organizing events, and running your club. Through these activities, you'll hone your project planning skills, improve your public speaking, and even learn new skills, like public relations, social media, and fundraising.

You'll spend time with friends and make new ones every week. Make it a family affair. Members are encouraged to invite their spouse or partner, children, and parents to help with service projects and attend club events.

Rotary offers opportunities for all ages - from young leaders in their 20's and 30's to senior members of the business and local community.

Reasons You Should Join The PNW Passport Rotary Club

A Passport Club is a new type of Rotary Club that encourages members to engage in service in ways that fit within your family, work and life commitments.

The Pacific Northwest Passport Rotary Club is your passport:
  • into Rotary - for people who have busy lives and commitments - such as young professionals, students, families and retirees - by reducing or removing barriers of time and cost, with fewer meetings and more ways to be engaged in service to others.
  • to other Rotary clubs - encouraging our members to visit other local Rotary clubs and to take part in their service projects, fundraisers and other activities.
  • to the local community - if you volunteer in other community groups, we want you to be our Rotary ambassador to those groups and let us know how we can work together to support the good work of others.

How do you become a member of Rotary?

The first step is to contact us and let us know that you are interested.

We will arrange for one or more of our members to meet with you and make sure that the PNW Passport Rotary Club is the right fit for you.  We can also bring you as our guests to other Rotary clubs in your local area to meet Rotarians in your community.

What are the qualifications for membership?

Be a business or community leader, or have the desire to be one.  Rotarians are community volunteers so we put value on your desire to serve others and to build a network among business and community leaders.

When we speak of leaders, we include potential leaders - anyone who wants to make a difference.  We are looking for people who:

  • Have an interest in networking, making friends, serving your local community or helping others internationally.

  • Be able to attend the club meetings and/or to participate in community projects.  Rotary clubs have a meeting every week, and we ask that members attend at least two of those meetings or participate in two club activities each month.

  • Live or work within the vicinity of the club or surrounding area.  We want you to become connected to your community.

What are the responsibilities of membership?

Attend club meetings or participate in some other way (such as taking part in a service project, visiting another Rotary club or attending a committee meeting).

Pay annual dues to your club, the Rotary District, and Rotary International.   The dues for the PNW Passport Rotary members is $160 USD per year (that's just over $13 per month) or $220 CDN per year (just over $18 per month).

Participate in local or international Rotary club activities or projects.  We are active volunteers who want to serve our community and world.

Take part in leadership courses and activities that are offered through Rotary.  We encourage members to be leaders in their clubs as well as in their community.  Many of these are offered at no cost to members, or at minimal cost.
