Speaker:  Dr. Abram Wagner, Research Assistant Professor, University of Michigan School of Public Health

Rotary continues to deliver on its promise to the children of the world to eradicate polio.  Although polio cases have dropped by 99.9 percent since 1988 and the world stands on the trheshold of eradincating the disease, the distressing news of a case of polio in New York has raised the issue of vaccine hesitancy and its influence on our goal to eradicate polio.  The speaker will weave these two ideas of vaccine htancy and polio eradicaion together. Dr. Abram Wagner is a Research Assistant Professor at the Univesity of Michigan School of Public Health.  Dr. Wagner talks about vaccine hesitancy and what this looks like globally.  From delivering vaccines at individual and commity levels to country-level efforts, vaccines are complex and require a lot of trust, effective commuication, and honesty.  Contact Emily Olson, Administrator, Rotary Club of Ann Arbor for Zoom connection. administer@a2rotary.org
