World Vision

 

The Rotary Club of Brampton welcomes Lori West. Lori worked for World Vision for 25 years. She suffers from Fibromyalgia and other complications. It’s great to be alive! Lori was born into a poor family and learned early in life that accumulated riches is a poor measure of a person’s life. At age nine, her Dad had tuberculosis and despite a difficult childhood, she managed to hide behind her mask. Over time she came to learn that she needs someone. She is glad and thankful of the things learned as a result of her challenges; we should never take our disabilities for granted and don’t allow anyone to squelch your dreams. In 1981 she learned that they had an opening at World Vision and she applied and spent 25 fulfilling years there. She knew she was making a positive difference in society, recently she came very close to dying and she is choosing to be happy and make the most of her situation. Even if you impact one life, it is worth the effort.
