We will miss you Marie..

Four days short of one year ago Marie Lisa Lock arrived from Austria. Just one week past her 15th birthday she was the youngest Exchange Student we can remember in our District. Now at the advanced age of 16 she has completed her year of adventure in Canada and will return to her family in Vienna.

On July 31st, dressed in a traditional Austrian dirndl, Marie spent 30 minutes telling us of a new life full of new friends and new families.

Highlights were many but certainly her recently completed month across Canada from Halifax to Victoria was near the top of the list. With 35 other Exchange Students she saw more of Canada in a month than most Canadians will see in their lifetime.

Marie's 16th Birthday party was a barbeque at the home of the Lomax family. All of her other host families and many friends were there. It was a happy occasion but also a sad occasion as we realized she had only 3 more days with us.

On Wednesday August 9th Marie will board Air Canada Flight 9616 to return to Austria. She has promised to return soon.
